Regional art and residence networks in and around the Netherlands

AiR Platform NL made a list

Networks allow connecting to peers, partners, and audiences, sharing knowledge, experiences, and expertise, generating visibility and collaboration. Besides AiR platform NL, listing circa 54 artist-in-residence programs, there are several regional artist-in-residence networks active in and around The Netherlands.

 

The Netherlands

 

Noordernaars (Notherners)

Northerners is a network and platform of art institutions, initiatives, and artist-in-residence programs in the Northern provinces of the Netherlands. Northerners commits to preserving and further developing experimental and innovative art in this region including a talent development program. The platform combines knowledge, experience, and (inter)national networks, aligns and coordinates programs and collaborations, and generates visibility to attract larger audiences.

Noordenaars consists of Academie Minerva, Bierumer School, CBK Emmen, Kunstpunt Groningen, Kunsthuis SYB, Media Art Friesland, Noorderlicht, NP3, Het Resort, SIGN, VHDG
 

AiR Platform Brabant
Artist-in-Residence platform Brabant is a collaboration between artist-in-residency organizers in the North Brabant province. Their objective is to raise the profile of AIR programs while garnering more attention for participating artists. Heightening the visibility to the public is called for, as well as following the artist’s trajectory and illustrating the added value of the programs through publications and research. The platform is an informative resource for policy, politics, and governance and a contact point for national and international networks.
AIR platform Brabant consists of TAC Eindhoven, De Fabriek, Van Gogh AIR Zundert, Witte Rook, Park Zuiderhout – AiR De Missie, Make Eindhoven, Baltan Laboratories, Gastatelier LeoXIII, Gastatelier ZIN, GlasLab Den Bosch, Annatopia / De Boshut, The Atlas Initiative, Ecodorp Boekel, United Cowboys and Park Tilburg.

Flanders and Brussels - Belgium

Kunstenpunt
Flanders Arts Institute is the professional arts support centre for the visual arts, performing arts and classical music. Flanders Arts Institute provides information and support, facilitates meetings and engages in research and innovation. Kunstenpunt maps artist-in-residence programmes and workspaces in Flanders and Brussels, their list consists 78 entries.

Germany

IGBK
The Internationale Gesellschaft der Bildenden Künste (IGBK) represents the interests of visual artists in Germany, and promotes worldwide collaboration amongst visual artists in all directions. They provide advice on working opportunities, grants, visas, residences, customs, taxes, social insurance, and copyright related to cross-border mobility. The IGBK initiated a mapping of residence programs and artists' houses (Künstlerhäuser) in Germany, stressing the relevance of inter(regional) networks for both operators and artists. The current list includes 101 entries.

Borderland residences - North Rhine-Westphalia
A European border network of residences in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. The network is part of a program providing financial support such as scholarships, artistic interventions and co-productions, and bringing exhcange and visibility to artistic works throughout the EuRegion. The network consists of residences, residence-projects, and exhibition venues, including Drawing Centre Diepenheim, Atelierhaus Eupen, A271 - Ateliers Högerweg, Museum Goch, Odapark center for contemporary art, Museum van Bommel van Dam, Hausmuseum, Greylight Projects, Museum Katharinenhof, Internationales Atelier Stipendium Münchengladbach, Kunstgenerator Stadt Viersen and New Viersen, CC Ringenberg.
