Curators' Network
The residences consist of a tailor-made tour, designed to meet the specific Spanish and Madrid-based contemporary artists, that best match with specific interests of each resident.
Curators´ Network is a European network that provides tools that help to discover the emerging cultural scene in the country of its members. The goal, therefore, is to create residences, that have a real practical use for the guests. During their stay in Spain, the residents will be accompanied and supported by local curators and cultural managers in order to discover artist and cultural agents for their future project. Hablar en Arte is the partner in Madrid and the organizer of this residency.
Hangar Barcelona in association with Curators' Network is offering two fully funded one-month-residencies in Barcelona, Spain, that will take place from November 11, 2015 - December 10, 2015 and from January 8, 2016 - February 11, 2016. The call is open for all cultural agents who as part of their praxis habitually work with artists, be it from a free-lance or institutional perspective (curators, researchers, art writers, ...) who currently do not live and work in Catalonia.
The two successful applicants will be asked to present the results of their residency at the end of their stay at Hangar as well as in an online format. They will also be required to provide a final report of the residency and to seek opportunities to share their experience with their own local communities which they should report back to Curators' Network and Hangar.
