Chapêlmêle
Ideally located in Alençon (Normandy, 2h30 from Paris), Chapêlmêle is an alternative cultural venue and association in Alençon, founded in 2015. Housed in a desecrated chapel, the association hosts a number of artistic residencies alongside its cultural programming. Around ten permanent residents help bring the space to life. A rich and intense self-managed collective life, punctuated by numerous events.
Chapêlmêle is :
- 1,000 m2 of space on two levels for artistic creation and the staging of live performances
- 300 m2 of accommodation for artists in residence (performing arts and visual arts) ;
- 150 m2 of storage space for various professional companies;
Depending on your needs and artistic practices, various spaces can be made available. The residence flat is equipped with 3 small studios (14 m2). A large collective studio (100 m2), as well as and an attic room (50 m2). All these spaces have lots of windows, so they are very bright.
The artists selected for the residency stay in a large furnished flat (150 m2) located in the main building of Les Petits-Châtelets. The flat is reserved exclusively for artists in residence. Chapêlmêle is not a hotel, its smooth running, maintenance and cleanliness depends on all the residents.
The accomodation can host maxium 10 persons at once.
