Wysing Arts
Wysing Arts Centre has during a period of five years reinvented itself from a small rural arts space serving predominantly local artists into one of Europe's leading research and development centres for the visual arts. Wysing has developed an experimental approach to artistic programming; where a concept or theme is explored across all of the residencies, exhibitions, events and commissions for the year.
Current open call 2021: Net//Work offers time for reflection, research, practice, skills exchange, and professional networking opportunities focused on digital artistic practices and technologies. Each online 4-week residency is open to mid-career visual artists based in South Africa, Nigeria, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, or Malaysia who work creatively with digital technologies (work that is made or presented using digital technology). The residencies will consist of online mentoring with Wysing and DAS staff, group conversations, problem solving surgeries, guest talks and workshops with external curators and artists and 1:1 tuition. Following the residency, artists will have the opportunity to participate in an online exhibition hosted by each residency partner. The artist will be provided:
- Artist Fee: £1,000 + subsistence and production costs
- Financial support of up to £1000 will be provided for reasonable adjustment requirements.
