Tyrone Guthrie Centre
The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is a residential artists' workspace for local, national, and international professional artists, curators, writers, poets, musicians, directors, and those who work to support the arts sector. They have eleven bedrooms in the Big House, which are all ensuite, equipped with a writing desk, and fully catered. The five self-catering cottages are fully equipped for cooking, and each has a bedroom, kitchen, shower room, and sitting room with a writing desk. They have seven visual arts studios, a print studio, a dance studio, performance space (with grand piano), and music room (with grand piano).
The residences are up to two weeks in the Big House, and up to four weeks in the self-catering cottages.
The Centre's big house is surrounded by 450 acres of forest and lake. It is only 12 kilometers from the Irish border, in County Monaghan, a part of the ancient province of Ulster which is actually in the Republic of Ireland.
