Artists resident in Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales and EU artists:

  • €385.00 per week for full board in the Big House - 7 nights.
  • €245 per week for the self-catering farmyard cottages - 7 nights.
  • Use of the second bedroom in House 5 is €125.00 per 7 nights. This fee does not apply to carers.
  • Second person in self-catering cottages 1-4 is €125.00 per 7 nights.

International artists outside the EU zone:

  • €600 per week for full board in the Big House (7 nights).
  • €345 per week for the self-catering Farmyard Cottages (7 nights).
  • Use of the second bedroom in House 5 is €140.00 per 7 nights. This fee does not apply to carers.
  • A fee of €125.00 per 7 nights will apply to carers in the Big House (who are not self-catering).
Application guidelines:

All applicants, whether working individually, or as part of a group/collaboration, must fill out individual application forms. Approval of individual applications will mean that artists may come to the Centre as individual practitioners, as well as part of a group/collaboration in the future. If members of the group/collaboration have already been resident with us, those members may email [email protected] to request our Returning Residents form.

Description

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is a residential artists' workspace for local, national, and international professional artists, curators, writers, poets, musicians, directors, and those who work to support the arts sector. They have eleven bedrooms in the Big House, which are all ensuite, equipped with a writing desk, and fully catered. The five self-catering cottages are fully equipped for cooking, and each has a bedroom, kitchen, shower room, and sitting room with a writing desk. They have seven visual arts studios, a print studio, a dance studio, performance space (with grand piano), and music room (with grand piano).

The residences are up to two weeks in the Big House, and up to four weeks in the self-catering cottages.

Location

The Centre's big house is surrounded by 450 acres of forest and lake. It is only 12 kilometers from the Irish border, in County Monaghan, a part of the ancient province of Ulster which is actually in the Republic of Ireland.
