Pro Artibus
The Pro Artibus foundation facilitates a residency program named Snäcksund - The Croft - a place to research and explore in Ekenäs, Finland.
The Croft is a place for short periods of artistic or art-related research. The Croft building is adjoined to the Snäcksund Villa residence. The residence programme at The Croft is open to Nordic artists, curators, art critics and educators, and is built around both invited projects and periodically announced open calls. Each residency is planned individually to match the needs of the project. Due to the diverse character of projects, The Croft facilitates both short and long stays (up to 2 months).
During each residence period a discussion event is arranged. For this event there are guest speakers invited. Pro Artibus´ art pedagogue leads targeted pedagogical projects. A long-term aim is to profile the space as a hub, a forum for happenings, seminars, talks – a platform for deeper ventilation of the themes that the pieces of art confer, as well as for cooperation with other forms of art and science.
Separate work room suitable for researching and clean working methods. If a selected project demands a certain kind of studio space or tools, that shall all be arranged.
A small fully equipped apartment, suitable for one person or a couple working together. Free wi-fi.
