Nikola-Lenivets is located 200 kilometers away from Moscow, in Kaluga region by Ugra river. A part of the territory belongs to Ugra National Park, which is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Their mission is to create a natural self regulated environment for life, recreation, art and work in harmony with nature. Art objects, workshops and studios, public spaces and accommodation areas, all of the necessary infrastructure for life and creativity are integrated into the natural surroundings and landscape of Nikola-Lenivets. Nikola-Lenivets is a modern project - the only place in Russia that presents landscape installations and land-art objects created by leading Russian and international artists, many of which have become iconic figures for modern art. It is open for creative experiments. New objects of art are created here constantly.

Nikola-Lenivets is the largest art park in Europe around a tiny village in the Kaluga region. Here, right under the open sky, a collection of works of modern art and architecture has developed. Nikola-Lenivets is 650 hectares of land open for creative experiments and the search for innovative solutions in various fields - from art to eco-farming.

In the creation of objects participated as artists and architects of the international level, but also local residents. The ideologist of the project is the artist Nikolay Polissky (http://en.nikola-lenivets.ru/polissky/en).

Nikola-Lenivets is open for creative experiments and new pieces of art are constantly added to the collection. This is the only place in Russia, which showcases landscape installations by the best Russian and international artists. Many of the Nikola-Lenivets art objects have become iconic for modern culture. The park produces 5 to 6 objects of modern art each year.

Outcome

The Nikola-Lenivets Art Residence does not require artists to complete projects after their stay. The main goal is to formulate proposals for long-term projects for future seasons.
