LMCC currently offer the following residency programs:

Workspace (for visual artists and writers) provides artists and writers working in diverse mediums and genres with free studio workspace for nine months, a modest one-time stipend, as well as access to a community of peers, professional development services, and exposure to new audiences through online and public programs. Through the program’s offerings, which include studio space, studio visits, talks and seminars, access to a network of peers, and public programs,Workspace encourages creative production, professional development, and community building in the early stages of an artist’s or writer’s career.

Process Space (for mid-career and established performing artists and arts groups) acts as a compliment to LMCC’s long-standing Swing Space residency program, committed to serving emerging and early-career performing and visual artists with development space. Process Space residencies are comprised of two to eight weeks of exclusive, concentrated time to further the development of new work in one of two 1,400 square foot rehearsal studios on Governors Island. In most cases, participating artists and arts groups have been commissioned by a New York-based presenting venue, and Process Space fills a unique need for space to develop that work at home in New York City. Participation is through invitation only.

SPARC, Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide, is a community arts engagement program that places artists-in-residence at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City. SPARC connects artists of high merit and excellence directly with older adults to impact their well being positively through arts-based activity at senior centers throughout New York City. Selected artists are sensitive to the needs of seniors and interested in engaging their communities. The program provides artists-in-residence with access to workspace in senior centers and a stipend, when funding is available.

International Fellowships are partnership-based fellowships for international artists and arts managers offering unique opportunities for creative and professional development in New York City. In addition, LMCC and the City of Paris, in collaboration with the Cultural Services Department at the French Embassy in New York, are partnering once again to provide New York City artists with the opportunity to live and work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.
