Fees charged by weekend/week/ month- E150/350/800. However, ways to lower the fees can be discussed, including partnerships, in-kind contributions.

The residency fee includes: accommodation in a double room, electricity, water, heating and final cleaning. All other expenses are not included. Each participant is responsible for travel and living expenses, materials and equipment , insurance.

Artists could come with spouses/family. Additional person E50.00/week.
Use of large outdoor swimming pool, sauna, cross trainer in the house for a small fee.

Description

The Gallery in The Garden hosts symposiums, art courses and has an interesting collection of pictures and sculptures. Gallery space for exhibits and events, networking possibilities could help participants enter the cultural and social scenes of the city. Trips organized to places of interest – history, culture, wine... in the region and the country.

The apartments are located close to the city centre of Plovdiv, where there is a strong cultural infrastructure - among them two art gymnasiums, art Academy, a large number of galleries...
The 3000 squared meter garden offers plenty of opportunities to escape from the pressures of daily life.

Gallery in The Garden offers residencies to artists from all disciplines - visual arts, sculpture, new media and performing arts, architecture, textile, music, literature, to art historians and working in educational programs, social workers or researchers, or anyone who wishes to enjoy Plovdiv. It accepts applications from individuals and small collaborative groups, both established and young artists at the beginning of their careers.

Studio Information

Large shared studio. Piano available. Wireless internet. Work can either be done in the studio or outside in the garden.

Accommodation Information

Three apartments provide living and working accommodation for a period of up to 2 months (longer residencies by arrangement). Lodging in new build spacious appartments distributed around a landscaped garden. Large bedroom, sitting area, bathroom/WC, shared studio and outdoor spaces. Accommodation for up to 3 artists at a time (doubled if the room is shared).

Location

Plovdiv is the oldest city in Europe and one of the oldest in the whole world with more than 200 archeological sites dating from 6 000 years starting with neolithic settlement, ancient greek and roman monuments. Distance from the airport: 15 kms (Transfer available by request).
