Galerie Huit
A multi-disciplinary artist residency has been hosted by Galerie Huit since 2008 with the aim to provide a creative and inspirational environment to both established and emerging artists. Founded by writer/curator/heritage conservationist, Julia de Bierre, A.I.R at Galerie Huit is a non-profit association and welcomes artists from all horizons. writers, photographers, journalists, composers, academics, archaeologists, heritage conservationists, actors and poets. An exhibition space occupies the ground floor of the prestigious 17th century mansion and the upper floors comprise seminar rooms, guest rooms and self-contained apartments for artists' residencies. Between 1 and 6 artists are hosted at the same time.
The potential to exhibit or give recitals and readings is considered on a case by case basis, with limited availability.

Galerie Huit is situated in the pedestrian-friendly, historic heart of Arles, in the PACA region (Provence Cote d'Azur) between Marseilles, Avignon and Montpellier and borders the Camargue National Park. Arles has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981.
