Avant-Garde & Kitsch
From article in Dawn: "Avant Garde & Kitsch (with the acronym A & K), was launched with an exhibition titled “The Hatchery” (2015), a name inspired by the idea of serving as “a springboard for emerging Pakistani artists”, in addition to providing selected young artists the opportunity to work together and also interact with established art practitioners and academics. This concept of a ‘residency’, whereby artists are provided with a space to live in and work with other artists, is the main thrust of A&K and is likely to continue in the future as well."
The aim of Avant-Garde & Kitsch is To promote emerging artists and those within 10 years of practice. The residency programme the Hatchery, as the name suggests, is meant to be a platform to project emerging and young artists onto the mainstream arts scene. The Residency provides residence and food at an urban location away from the distractions of big cities. General ameneties are provided.
New body of work resulting in a group show at end of residency. One piece to be donated to residency at managers' choice.

10 twin sharing rooms with general furniture and attached bathrooms. Groups can be hosted, partners and families as well on case-by-case basis.
supplies and technical equipment is not provided but may be faciliated at cost.
