TaDA – Textile and Design Alliance Artist in Residence Programme 2025

Each year, six candidates, coming from Switzerland and abroad, have the opportunity to work with textile companies in Eastern Switzerland

TaDA residency is aimed at artists and creatives from all disciplines with a demonstrated interest in the textile industry, textile culture, and sustainability. Basic technical knowledge of textile production is an advantage. Projects with a pronounced experimental approach are particularly welcome. The connection to the TaDA partners must be included in the project drafts.

Each year, six candidates, coming from Switzerland and abroad, have the opportunity to work with textile companies in Eastern Switzerland, use a local studio in Arbon and extend their own individual networks over a period of three months. At the public event “TaDA Spinnerei”, which is also attended by international speakers, they can present their projects to an interested public and at the same time discuss them with experts.

Residency periods 2025:

  • April to June 2025
  • September to November 2025

TaDA covers the following as part of the residency programme:

  • Accommodation in Arbon, few minutes walking distance from the workplace and the Bodensee
  • Travel expenses
  • Contribution to the cost of living
  • Workplace in the former textile and engine factory in Arbon (Kreativzentrum ZIK)
  • Technology, knowledge and infrastructure support by experts from the 13 partner companies and from the jury

TaDA expects the following from residents

  • Development of a new project in cooperation with local textiles company
  • Public presentation of their work, organisation of workshops

The deadline for applying is 2 September 2024. Applicants are requested to submit the following documents online as a PDF:

  • Portfolio with CV
  • Project draft with a clear reference to Eastern Swiss textile production: max. 1 A4
    page PDF including at least 4 images illustrating the idea or process (sketches, technical drawings, other visual representations)
